[00:00.30]If I Live to be 100|[00:02.50] I thing I would like to live 100.|[00:05.05] It seems like an awfuly long time to live.|[00:08.13] It is an entire century.|[00:10.46] Imagine all the changes|[00:12.14] that you would see if you lived to be 100.|[00:15.46] I had a neighbor who was 85.|[00:17.84] She used to tell me|[00:19.15] what things were like when she was a little girl.|[00:21.39] She told me what my town used to look like,|[00:23.87] what her clothes were like, and what her school was like.|[00:27.48] I used to enjoy listening to her stories.|[00:30.10] Everything was so different when she was young.|[00:32.96] Listening to her was like having history come to life.|[00:36.69] I used to try to imagine|[00:38.18] what life was like for her back then.|[00:40.79] If I was 100, and I had grandchildren|[00:44.34] and great grandchildren,|[00:45.77] I would tell them stories about my childhood.|[00:48.94] I would hope that I had a good memory|[00:51.12] so that I could remember everything.|[00:53.80] If I do want to live to be 100,|[00:56.28] I'll have to live a healthy lifestyle.|[00:58.71] Not too many people live to be that old.|[01:01.45] If I do get to be that old,|[01:03.81] I hope I'll still be mentally alert and physically agile.|[01:08.23] In my country, the Prime Minister sends a letter|[01:11.46] of congratulations to anyone|[01:13.52] who has their hundredth birthday.|[01:15.82] People who live to be 100 are very special.|[01:19.05] Maybe in the future with better medical care|[01:22.54] and healthier lifestyles, more people will live to be 100.|[01:27.20] If I live to be 100, I'll have a birthday cake,|[01:31.06] but I won't put 100 candles on the cake.|[01:34.60] I could never blow out 100 candles.
