[00:00.30]Learning to Dance|[00:03.72] I went to England with my mother.|[00:05.83] She used to be a singer in a band.|[00:10.12] We went to the hotel that she used to sing at.|[00:14.23] It was a big fancy hotel.|[00:18.03] Some of the people that she knew|[00:20.39] when she sang in the band were still there.|[00:24.31] They remembered my mother,|[00:25.55] and they had a good time talking to her|[00:27.61] and remembering old times.|[00:30.90] Many people told me that I looked like my mother.|[00:34.82] In the hotel,|[00:36.81] they had a fancy hall where they had ballroom dancing.|[00:41.23] I am not used to that kind of dancing.|[00:45.33] I always dance to rock music.|[00:48.88] A man told me that he would teach me how to dance.|[00:53.54] It looked very easy.|[00:56.78] I held one of his hands,|[00:58.65] and put my other hand on his shoulder.|[01:02.07] He told me exactly how to move my feet.|[01:06.42] I was very clumsy, and I stepped on his toes.|[01:10.59] He was patient with me,|[01:12.46] and he counted "one, two, three."|[01:16.93] I tried to waltz with him.|[01:20.98] I would start out pretty well,|[01:22.91] but then I would get mixed up and stand on his toes again.|[01:27.57] The man laughed about it.|[01:29.07] I told him that I wasn't a very good dancer,|[01:33.23] but he said that I was good for a beginner.|[01:36.90] I think he was just being polite.|[01:40.82] The man asked my mother to dance.|[01:45.05] My mother is a very good dancer.|[01:48.54] I didn't know that about her.|[01:51.27] She never stepped on the man's toes once.|[01:54.51] The man thanked us for dancing with him,|[01:57.50] and I thanked him for giving me dancing lessons.|[02:01.10] I don't think I'll ever be very good at that type of dancing.|[02:05.96] Each generation has a specific type of dancing.|[02:10.31] The way that I dance is different from the way|[02:13.11] that my mother dances.|[02:15.91] The way that I dance|[02:16.97] doesn't involve moving your feet too much.|[02:20.20] I'm not too good at fancy steps.
